Damien Ryan

A former financial journalist, Damien started Ryan Financial Communications in 2007 to bring a fresh approach to the PR industry in Asia. This includes building a proactive, proud and independent firm, which delivers innovative solutions to help clients build their businesses in Asia. Damien draws on his finance industry knowledge and experience from working with news organisations including Bloomberg LP. He advises senior management on communication issues and maintains strong relations with stakeholders, including the media. He lives in Hong Kong with his family and has previously worked in countries including the UK and Australia, where he was born and educated.

The FCC in Hong Kong for nostalgia, Friday night drinks and convenience (across the road from our office).

Hidden talent:
The ability to crack a 9-foot long stock whip, thanks to growing up on a farm in Australia.

Currently studying:
Ukulele and mandolin chords via an iPad application.

Advice to those entering PR:
Think strategically, even while juggling. Never stop asking questions. Speak up. Be open to change.
